World Wide Rebates Sucks/Is a Fraud/Stole from me
See previous rebate post. I will never buy anything with a rebate from Newegg again. I will attempt to never buy anything with a rebate ever again. Anyone know which consumer/government groups I should complain to about this?

True dat. Rebates suck, unless they are automatic (and hence just strangely-named discounts.)

No, they aren't named discounts. In retail stores, they label them as "instant rebates".

Instant rebates! That's what they are called. I was trying to remember yesterday when I posted my comment.

Agree that rebates are completely shady. However, I recently came across a rebate that kind of makes sense. There is currently a $50 rebate on HD Radio tuners given by the HD Radio consortium. It kind of makes sense when the rebate covers a very large range of products from multiple companies. It is too difficult to manage a discount through normal retail channels.

Frankly, I am surprised that they even responded to you. It seems like they used to just trash your rebate info upon receipt and claim they never got it.

So you think it was Thermaltake, rather than WorldWideRebates.com? Or perhaps some sort of collusion?

Personally, I bought the Thermaltake power supply because the price before the rebate was good enough for me. Had the rebate not been there, I would've been perfectly happy with my purchase(well, aside from the fact that the new power supply is incompatible with the old optical drive in the box I intended to put it in.), but the rebate soured the experience, as I wasted two hours of time working on the thing, all to get screwed over in the end.

So, yes, shame on all those who support the crooked rebate industry.

Newegg would do better in my eyes if it had an option to search for items that don't have rebates.

I have a very similar problem - i jumped thru the hoops they received the docs - claimed that there was not date on the order - for a 50$ Newegg Thermaltake Powersupply - 50$ - they scanned the pages of my submission but they did not scan the reverse (page 1) of the new egg invoice that had the date - the invoice page even has my handwriting "Please Turn Over" as proof that they other info was on the opposite side - SO THEY DELIBERATELY DECIDED THAT MY DOCS WERE INCOMPLETE AS ANYONE COULD SEE THAT A PAGE WAS MISSING.
